learning all the time
JUST FINISHED READING a beautiful book on the subject of learning through living life. it was a healing experience, reading that book. i won't go into it now as it would take far too long. suffice it to say, i've come to a place through my own research that feels much more settled and comforting than where i was three or four weeks ago. and i can see it all coming together: what i want 'at home learning' to look like for us.

i
am frequently asked how homeschooling is going and it's been awkward
coming up with a concise answer considering where my head's been. so
i'll just say, "good! it's going really well." because it is. never
mind the misleading nature of such a simplistic answer. never mind that
we don't actually sit down daily with a set curriculum. our curriculum
is non-traditional. and also, free. it's the world around us. and being a part of it.
life is their curriculum. play is their work.
